*How far are is the park from the centre of town? – Apollo Bay’s shopping centre is approximately 1.5km. You can drive, bike ride or stroll along the beach or the walking track.

*Is the pool heated? – Yes our pool is gas heated all year round and is situated outdoors.

*Jumping pillow? – No we do not have a jumping pillow we opted to put in a flying fox which has been a great hit with the kids (and adults).

*What activities do you organise? – Throughout school holiday periods we run a variety of activities including kids club, Zumba, Boot Camp, Yoga, twilight cinema and live Music performances. Please note some of these activities are weather dependant.

*Is the park near the beach? – Yes we are directly across the road from the beach.

*What activities should we consider doing in the area? – Apollo Bay is located on a beautiful stretch of beach that provides fantastic opportunities for swimming, surfing, snorkelling/diving and fishing. The town is surrounded by the Otway National Park showcasing mainland Australia’s only cool temperate rain forest. Formal rainforest walks include Maits Rest, Triplet Falls and the Great Ocean Walk, and ticketed attractions include the Otway Fly treetop walk and the Cape Otway Lighthouse.

*Is linen supplied for cabins? – Yes we provide all linen, doonas, doona covers, pillows, pillow cases, sheets and bath towels for all paying guests. You may want to BYO beach/pool towel.

*What time of the year are whales in the area? – We have Southern Right Whales migrating along the coast from May to September each year. There is also a resident colony of Australian Fur Seals on the Marengo Reefs Marine sanctuary that are visible from the shore, and a couple of massive stingrays that keep the Apollo Bay harbour nice and clean of any fish scraps thrown in by fisherman.

*Are we pet friendly? – No sorry no pets allowed.

*Does the park allow camp fires? – Camp fires are permitted at BIG4 Apollo Bay on the conditions that you bring a drum/brazier that will elevate the fire up off our nicely grassed sites and avoid coals dropping onto the ground. No fires are permitted on days of Total Fire Ban. Fire wood can be purchased from local shops and wood merchants. Fires need to be extinguished by 11.00pm, and should not be left unattended. We do not have fire drums available for hire.

*How far are the 12 Apostles from the park? – The park is situated approximately 88km, or 1 hour and 15 mins drive from the 12 Apostles.

*BBQ facilities? – Yes there are 2 large gas BBQ areas for guests to use free of charge.

*Does the park have a shop/restaurant on site? – We have very limited supplies on site, we do stock cold drinks, ice creams, chips and lollies and Ice.

*Dump point available? – Yes

*What if you arrive after the office closes? – We have an after hours check-in procedure, you will need to contact the office prior to 6.00pm to make arrangements for a late check in if arriving later than this time.

*Is there WIFI available in the park? – Yes we have free WIFI available throughout the park(Download limits apply.

*Baby equipment? – We have port-a-cots available for hire for a one off charge of $10 (No bedding or sheets supplied). We also have a limited supply of highchairs available (no fee). We also have a family bathroom with hip bath, full size bath, change table and toilet facilities.

*Does the park take AMEX/DINERS CLUB? – Amex is accepted but does attract a 4% fee. Payments can be made via VISA, MASTERCARD, EFTPOS and Direct deposit with no merchant fees.

*What is the best way to travel along the Great Ocean Road? – If possible, try and travel along the Great Ocean Road from Geelong to Lorne, Apollo Bay then Port Campbell. This makes it much easier to access the car parks for key lookouts, particularly if you are in motor home or towing a van. If you are travelling with a van from Port Campbell to Apollo Bay, try and allow an extra night with us and we can recommend a great loop drive from Apollo Bay – Forrest – Lorne – Apollo Bay which will allow you to explore this iconic stretch of the Great Ocean Road without the stress of towing the van.

*How long will it take to drive from Melbourne to Apollo Bay?
A: The quickest and easiest route is to follow C119 from Geelong to Moriac, Forrest, Apollo Bay. This will take 2.5 hours from Melbourne CBD, but does bypass the iconic coastal section of the Great Ocean Road. At school holiday times the inland route through Forrest will save a lot of time off your trip (approx. 1.5 hours).

*Where is the closest bus stop? – There is a V/Line bus top directly out the front of the park.
